DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE
The Department of Interior Architecture was established in 2010 and started to accept students in the 2016-2017 Academic Year. Interior architecture design studios are the most important pillars of the course program. The theoretical considerations of the course encompass technical drawing, interior architectural environment, furniture design, construction, building information, survey-restoration, mechanical equipment, narrative techniques, materials and design history. The sustainability vision of the faculty also has a central importance integrated into the rich contextual structure of the interior architecture program.
The scope of the Department of Interior Architecture, offers the opportunity of transformation through contemporary theoretical knowledge and practical training, owing to a modern and advanced teaching philosophy. In this regard, the students of the program are given the opportunity of constructing a strong basis for their professional careers, enriched by a broad interior architecture perspective, gained through the latest technical knowledge harmonized with reformist practicing methods. Through the course program, and not limited to the curriculum, students will also enjoy the opportunities of national and international research, scientific organization, cultural and socially responsible activities.
The internship program, which is required to be completed during the training process, enables students to establish a direct connection with professional life. Educational institutions, alumni, and firms support the interior architecture program at the academic level with activities such as seminars, workshops, practice, domestic and international trips, fairs and so on. In this regard, the program enables the students to develop using the advanced knowledge and skills acquired in the field. They will also develop the skills to interpret and evaluate data, to identify problems, to analyze and to develop solutions based on research and evidence. The department’s aim is in training interior architecture candidates who are able to create functional, comfortable, aesthetic, economic, sustainable interior spaces with a high sense of ethics and aesthetics.
