Meaningful Contribution to Nature from OMÜ Faculty of Architecture Students as part of the 'Breath to the Future – Green Homeland' Campaign on November 11th National Afforestation Day As part of the "Green Homeland Mobilization" campaign, carried out under the auspices of the President, and with the theme 'Breath to the Future,' sapling planting programs were held simultaneously in 81 provinces on the November 11th National Afforestation Day. Asst. Prof. Dr. İlknur Zeren Çetin, who coordinated the event for the OMÜ Faculty of Architecture, highlighted the importance of love for nature and environmental consciousness. She led the students in a joint effort to plant saplings with the goal of leaving a greener Türkiye for future generations. While a total of 37,380 saplings were planted across 19 different regions throughout the city, the central program was held at the afforestation site next to the T-Type Closed Prison in the İlkadım district. Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Fatma Aydın participated in the sapling planting event alongside students and volunteers, offering support to nature. The event was attended by Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı, Garrison Commander Major General Gazi Tümgeneral Davut Alâ, Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Nihat Soğuk, Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak Pancar, Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Mustafa Bakçepınar, Provincial Police Chief Ahmet Arıbaş, OMÜ Faculty of Architecture Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çetin, Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serpil Güvendi Kaptan, institution directors, students, and many citizens. During the event, participants planted saplings that will serve as a 'breath' to nature, contributing to the spread of environmental awareness among the Faculty's students.
