
Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇETİN Permanently Appointed as Dean of Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Architecture Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇETİN, who had been serving as the Acting Dean of the Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Architecture for some time, has been permanently appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture.
This permanent appointment was made in accordance with the voting conducted by the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) on September 25, 2025, and the Presidential Decision numbered 2025/56, pursuant to Article 16, paragraph (a) of the Higher Education Law No. 2547.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇETİN, who was permanently appointed to the Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Architecture with the approval of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatma AYDIN, continues to carry out his duties as of the notification date of October 16, 2025.
Prof. Dr. ÇETİN, who has made significant contributions to the development of our Faculty with his academic and administrative experience, is noted for his work aimed at enhancing the quality of education and training, strengthening research capacity, and promoting interdisciplinary collaborations.
As the faculty members and administrative staff of our Faculty, we congratulate Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇETİN on his permanent appointment and wish him continued success in his duty.
Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇETİN – Brief CV Prof. Dr. Mehmet ÇETİN is a faculty member in the Department of City and Regional Planning at the Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Architecture. He completed his undergraduate education in Landscape Architecture and received his master's and doctoral degrees in the same field. Throughout his academic career, he has conducted national and international studies in areas such as landscape architecture and ecology, urban planning, environmental sustainability, and climate change.
To date, Prof. Dr. ÇETİN has supervised 8 doctoral and 21 master's theses and has served as the project coordinator for 2 international and 5 national projects. He has authored over 300 scientific publications and is recognized as a highly cited researcher internationally for these works.
According to data from Web of Science, Scopus, and Google Scholar, Prof. Dr. Çetin's WOS H-index is 59, Scopus H-index is 60, and Google Scholar H-index is 79, with a total citation count exceeding 10,000.
