Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çetin Prioritizes Student-Oriented Management, 'Reuse,' and Sustainability Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çetin prioritized direct communication with a student-oriented management approach. Dean-Student Meetings were organized at the Faculty, while students' educational experience was enriched through Architecture Week, workshops, seminars, and exhibitions. To address the students' request for new seating areas during the Dean-Student meetings, the Dean refurbished and placed unused tables, chairs, and stools in different locations. As a result, students gained spaces where they can comfortably spend time during breaks or free periods, enhancing their social interaction. This application, carried out with a focus on reuse and sustainability, both made the Faculty more livable and encouraged students' involvement in the management processes. Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çetin stated that this initiative also created an experience area where students could put their design ideas into practice and fostered an awareness of "reuse." He added, "Discarding a material as waste when its physical life is not yet complete harms nature and the economy. Designs based on the principle of reuse also allowed our students to take ownership of the Faculty."
