Dean Çetin Emphasizes the Importance of Research University Status In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Çetin, addressed the faculty students, stating:
"Research universities have been the driving force behind scientific discoveries, the cradle of innovation, and the source of ideas that shape the future of societies. These prestigious institutions not only produce knowledge but also put this knowledge at the service of society and enhance the country's competitiveness."
He then emphasized the importance of achieving Research University Status by discussing the activities carried out during the Candidate Research University process.
Dean Çetin invited all students who have "an idea" to attend the free-thinking meetings to be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He noted that the faculty management is committed to raising quality standards, ensuring the participation of students, administrative staff, and academic staff in management processes, and embracing a critical understanding.
He assured the students that their opinions and suggestions are being listened to carefully, and emphasized that an environment of mutual interaction and dialogue is crucial for both improving educational standards and strengthening communication between the faculty management and the students.
Finally, he announced that the Dean-Student Meeting would be made a tradition and took notes on the students' demands and requests.
